Maya Reese was set to begin training to become a service dog for her disabled veteran dad, Louis. Unfortunately, Louis’s son accidentally let the dog outside and unfortunately, she was hit by a car. Maya was transported to the Animal Emergency Care Center and HHF was contacted to see if we could help. Thanks to supporters of our Service Animal Aid Fund, we were able to say yes. Maya is one lucky dog because ultrasounds and x-rays showed no fractures or internal injuries, just soft tissue damage. Maya received wound care and pain meds and returned home with Louis the same day. We are so glad that we were able to help with this emergency!
