This is Samson, with his human daddy, Jay, 12 weeks post surgery on his Wobbler Syndrome. Wobbler Syndrome, or Cervical Spondylomyelopathy, is a disease of the cervical spine (the neck) that is usually seen in larger-breed dogs, so Samson was a key candidate. This causes compression in the spinal cord or nerve roots, often leading to pain. The term “wobbler” is used to describe their gate when this is happening.
The two are very grateful for the help HHF and its supporters gave so that Samson could undergo costly neurological surgery to address his Wobbler Syndrome. Samson is doing great, playing and singing along to Jay’s Harmonica.
