The little doxie lost the use of her hind legs. Surgery to try and correct the problem would cost about $6,000, and there’s no guarantee that Lillie would walk again. Her folks, Margie and Mike, live on Social Security and couldn’t afford the surgery, nor a wheelchair than could solve the problem. They applied to Harley’s Hope Foundation, and with a little research, we discovered handicappedpets.com, that features Walkin’ Wheels carts, made especially for small breed dogs. We delivered the cart to Lillie, thinking she might be a bit afraid. As soon as she had the cart under her, she was off and running! There’s nothing more gratifying than seeing a happy animal. We wish the family lots of luck with Lillie’s health, and hope for many more years together.
