This has been a very busy time for cases including taking two dogs into emergency foster care from a domestic violence case. Since we cannot show those pups for obvious reasons, let us introduce you to Mulder, a big pup with a big appetite for trouble. Mulder, who is only one year old, was being watched at “grandma’s” house. Grandma is a cake baker and had thrown away a decorating tool that cuts fondant. Well, Mulder sniffed out cake frosting and made a beeline for that trash can. He ate the frosting…and the tool it was on!

Mom, Victoria, rushed Mulder to the emergency room where it was confirmed the tool was in his belly. She followed up with her regular veterinarian, who cleared space on a very tight schedule to rush the pup into surgery. He was very fortunate that the sharp edges of the tool hadn’t done damage to his intestines! Mulder came through surgery and was able to go home the next day.

Victoria is a single mom who works and covered the emergency expenses, but needed help with the surgery and hospitalization. HHF was in a position to contribute because of you, our compassionate supporters – thank you!
