March 2019 Happy Tails!

Jackson, a 7 month old kitty pictured here with his human sibling, underwent amputation of his leg due to a severe fracture. Sadly, injuries like this one can be fixed with orthopedic surgery, but most people living on fixed or low income cannot afford that. While sad, amputation is preferable to euthanasia, and we know from past cases that 3-legged animals adapt quickly and can enjoy a full life. Jackson’s mom, Tammy, is a single parent working part-time and receiving assistance for her and her daughter. As much as she wanted to repair, not remove, Jackson’s leg, it wasn’t affordable even with help from charities including HHF. We’re all wishing Jackson a quick and full recovery.
