HHF is looking to fill several important volunteer positions with dedicated individuals who believe in our mission to keep pets and their people together. If interested, please complete the Volunteer Application available under the Applications tab on our website.

Board Treasurer – the candidate for this position will join our Board of Directors and oversee finances, including monthly reconciliations, preparing the annual Form 990-EZ, and working with the Executive Director in creating and presenting the annual organizational budget. Must have experience in bookkeeping/accounting and be familiar with QuickBooks Online. The board meets quarterly, so candidates should live close enough to commute to the meetings.

Pet Services Coordinator – the position is responsible for responding to general inquiries regarding our assistance programs, reviewing applications for services and communicating with applicants regarding missing documents, clarification of answers, determining qualification, and coordinating approvals/declines with the Executive Director. Must live in Pikes Peak Region.

Social Media Manager – we are looking for a candidate experienced with Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to help strategize and manage our Social Media platforms. While candidates can live outside of our immediate area, we would prefer someone able to attend periodic communication meetings.

Emergency Foster Homes – HHF periodically takes in pets whose people are looking for work or affordable housing, domestic violence victims who can’t have their pets in safe house shelters, and individuals who are hospitalized and have no family to care for their pets while they’re indisposed. Candidates must have room in their homes, preferably an extra bedroom where cats can be housed, at least in the early stages, yards that are fenced and free of potential hazards, well-socialized and fully vaccinated pets of their own, and not be over the legal limit for animals. HHF will provide food, litter, crates, leashes and any veterinary care needed during the pets’ temporary stay.
