If there was one case that stood out to us in 2022, it was that of Jan and Poppy. Jan is 80 something years young and decided to adopt an adult cat for companionship. She discovered a short time later that Poppy was battling an inflammatory condition called stomatitis. The treatment is full mouth extractions, which ends the problem, but can be costly for someone dependent on Social Security.
Fortunately, Jan took Poppy to Cattails Feline Health Center. They in turn contacted HHF and the rescue from which Poppy was adopted. Once we had approved a grant, the clinic matched it so Poppy could have her surgery and Jan could keep this sweet cat that she had grown to love in just a short period of time. We love it when a plan comes together!
