While we are sad that the pet pantries are shutting down, we are excited to ramp up our Harley’s Hope Chest program. We started the program a couple of years ago as a way to accept donations of products and veterinary supplies for sick/injured animals. But, because we were so busy with the food program, we never really marketed our needs for the HHC program. That’s about to change!
If you have items in your garage or attic that are no longer needed, please contact us. If you don’t have items but would like to help, please check out the wish lists referenced in our “Other Ways to Give Back” article. Here are just a few things we can use:
Dog wheelchairs
Dog ramps/stairs
Lift straps
Glucometers, lancets, and new syringes for diabetic pets
X-pens/folding dog crates for recovery
Unexpired prescription pet food*
Unexpired, non-narcotic veterinary medications*
Dry cat and dog food—all formulas
*Please note that these items will be inventoried, and then passed onto veterinarians with low-income clients in need of these donated supplies. Harley’s Hope will not disburse prescription pet foods or medications directly to the public.
If you prefer to give tangible items, consider checking out our Wish Lists and donating an item for a pet in need. Our wish lists include medical items like dog wheelchairs, list straps, glucometers in addition to food and treat items.
