Director’s Notes

Another year has come and gone. It’s hard to believe it’s been 14 ½ years since Harley’s Hope was founded, and so much has happened since then. From one program in 2010, the organization has grown to offer seven distinct programs in 2024. We have grown from an idea for a charity created in memory of a special dog, to over 12,350 animals helped, and more than $825,000 worth of support provided as of this writing. We not only broke ground as an animal welfare charity that doesn’t do pet adoptions, but also became a safety net organization that has helped inspire other groups to step up and offer surrender prevention services. Yes, we are proud of what we’ve accomplished, but we know that these accomplishments were only possible thanks to the support of many others.

Thank you to the volunteers who have served on our Board of Directors, steering the ship and helping to ensure our future. Thank you to our volunteers who run programs and events, helping to spread the word regarding what Harley’s Hope is and does. Thank you to all of the donors without whom we never would have gotten the charity off the ground or kept it running. Thank you to the veterinary service providers who have given life-saving veterinary care to client pets; to the boarding facilities and former fosters who kept animals safe while their people were lying in hospital beds. Thank you to the companies, other nonprofits, and individuals who have donated pet food and supplies to ensure that low-income pet parents could continue to feed their companions who, in turn, fed their souls.

Running a charity is not a one-person endeavor, and while Thanksgiving has already come and gone, I am very thankful for all of you.

Happy Holidays!
