Max is very lucky to be alive! After the 9-year-old was attacked by a mama bear, he suffered several puncture wounds and a bite on his left, back leg. As his person, Amber, tells it, “A baby bear was on the porch when my mom let Max out on the leash for a late night bathroom break. The cub ran off but the mama was nearby and attacked him. We tried everything to get the bear off!”

Despite his injuries, the staff at Planned Pethood said his prognosis is “amazing.” Max received fluids, had his numerous wounds sutured up, and spent the night in the hospital, but was released to go home to continue his recovery.
