Happy Tails

I can think of better ways to spend Christmas Eve morning, but Garfield here couldn’t wait. This handsome Ginger Cat underwent PU surgery on December 24th to prevent future life-threatening urinary blockages. He’s back home with his family and recovered thanks to the support of our donors.

For the uninitiated, PU surgery stands for Perineal Urethrostomy, a procedure that widens the urethra in cats. The procedure is often performed on male cats, who are far more prone to blockages than females. The surgery can be a very positive step for cats prone to repeat urinary blockages and can help them live a more comfortable life.
