The Harley’s Hope Foundation Board of Directors is responsible for providing oversight and governing the organization. This issue we would like to introduce you to Roxanne Green.

What first inspired you to get involved with our organization?
I was inspired to experience a new role in a non-profit that focuses on helping animals and people stay together. To help reduce the number of animals being relinquished or euthanized because of various reasons including but not limited to affordability of vet care.
What perspective or expertise do you bring to the Board?
I bring 24 years of experience working with animal rescue from all different roles. During this time I have worked with many different organizations and people who support nonprofits focused on reducing and eliminating animal abuse, neglect and homelessness. I have directly worked with owners in Pet Relinquish-Transfer cases, fostering animals, event organization and fund raising. I feel that I can bring a greater reach throughout Colorado to support the mission of HHF.
Who or what shaped your passion for this cause?
My passion for helping animals and others comes from watching my grandfather always offering a helping hand to people as well as animals. He instilled kindness and love for all in my heart and mind. He showed me how to do better even if I don’t have resources to give, I always have my time and my work ethic to offer.
How do you hope community members will engage with our work?
I hope that community members in Colorado will extend resources, time and support to HHF so that we can further help families keep their pets at home. Be it through financial support to help with vet bills, training needs, food or other resources. If HHF has more support through community members we can help prevent neglect and homelessness by allowing pets the care they need and owners the ability to keep their pets with them.
What’s your favorite way to recharge outside of work?
I have multiple resources to recharge outside of work. Some days I just snuggle with my dogs on the couch. Other days I go for a run, a bike ride or go to the gym. I also take my big boy out to the trails for hiking and playtime in the creeks. When I’m not outside I Volunteer my time at events supporting animals and our running community.
