We’ve received several donations recently from people who have sadly lost their pets. Prescription pet food, dog diapers, leftover unexpired medications, bags of lactated ringers, and more that we know can benefit people who are struggling and have pets with chronic health conditions or who are recovering from an acute illness or injury.
As a result, we’re launching Harley’s Hope Chest, a program that will accept donations, like the following, and, working with local veterinary providers, get those items to people in need of help. This is just a partial list of what we may be able to use:
Unexpired prescription pet food
Unexpired veterinary medications
Washable dog diapers
Harnesses for animals struggling to get up
Elevated feeding stations
Alpha Trak 2 glucometers
Insulin syringes
Pet appropriate blood pressure monitors
Dog or cat “wheelchairs” or carts
Unexpired nutritional supplements
New training pads
We may also accept crates that are in very good condition, but want the focus to be on items needed by sick or injured pets. And, while we can deliver equipment, harnesses, etc. directly to folks in need, all prescription foods and medications will be donated directly to veterinary clinics to pass along to clients in need. If you have items you’d like to donate, or are a veterinary provider interested in participating, please contact us at 719-495-6083 or info@harleys-hopefoundation.org.
What better way to honor your special pet than contributing items they no longer need to help another pet in need?
